Selection guide

uPVC, cPVC, SWR or casing — let the job decide.

Four questions separate the six systems we manufacture: is the line pressurised, is the water hot, is it gravity drainage, or is it going underground? Answer those and the specification writes itself.

01Decision

Moving cold water under pressure?

Rigid PVC to IS 4985 is the workhorse — pressure classes from 2.5 to 12.5 kg/cm² across 20–315 mm, for irrigation mains, field networks and potable supply. For building plumbing in imperial sizes, lead-free uPVC to ASTM D1785 in Schedule 40 and 80 carries higher working pressures in a compact wall.

02Decision

Does the line carry hot water?

This is the one decision where material chemistry is non-negotiable: standard uPVC is not rated for hot service. cPVC to IS 15778 handles continuous hot and cold service up to 93°C, which is why it is the system for geyser lines, solar heater loops and mixed hot–cold distribution.

03Decision

Soil, waste or rainwater — not under pressure?

SWR systems to IS 13592 are engineered for gravity flow, in Type A (ventilation and rainwater) and Type B (soil and waste). The choice inside the range is the joint: Selfit solvent-cement joints make a rigid, permanent stack; Ringfit push-fit rubber rings absorb thermal expansion — the safer choice for long external stacks that see the sun.

04Decision

Casing a borewell or tube well?

Casing pipe to IS 12818 comes in depth classes: CS (shallow) for wells up to 80 metres and CM (medium) up to 250 metres. Trapezoidal threads carry the vertical load of the pipe column, and uPVC will not corrode in acidic or alkaline groundwater the way steel casing does.
